Contemporary artist Sharon Hegarty has a bright and vivacious personality
that is nothing short of contagious. Her paintings are fresh, lively and very
appealing as they emanate her enthusiastic joie de vivre.
A trained graphic designer, Sharon completed a Higher National Diploma in Point of Sale
Graphics in London. She worked in London and Sydney for major packaging companies as a graphic designer.
After moving to the Sunshine Coast in 1989 and having 2 children she illustrated several children's books.
Next she turned her talents to colour consulting here on the Sunshine Coast. She has always had an
artistic talent and an eye for colour.
As a result of my colour consulting work I realised there was a need for affordable original artworks.
Working in acrylics, Sharon's paintings are typically textured and layered though varied in
style. She has a talent for commissions, taking time to listen, understand and to gain a
rapport with the client before carefully creating each piece.
Her work is an honest celebration of texture and colour, they are always visually appealing.
These days Sharon paints full time, working closely with interior designers creating art
for residential and commercial projects, units, resorts, display homes and one-off pieces all over Australia.

Painting is my absolute passion. When I paint I have no concept of time, I'm lost within it... And I love that!
While her paintings are certainly a passion, in truth these more than affordable original
artworks are extremely well crafted.
